A suspected gang member is accused of cutting a man with a knife during a fight in the Canal neighborhood.
The fight was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday on Fairfax Street, police Sgt. Justin Graham said. Two suspected gang members allegedly confronted the victim and a friend on the street, and one attacker allegedly cut the victim’s finger. The victims are not affiliated with a gang, Graham said.
Carlos Alberto Gonzalez, 20, of Strawberry was detained nearby and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, violating probation and participating in a gang. He remained in custody Thursday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The second suspect fled and remains at large. The incident is under investigation.
