Sausalito police arrested a man and a woman found in possession of stolen mail.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, police Cpt. Bill Fraass said. A witness reported seeing a black Honda CR-V with a male passenger who exited the vehicle and was checking car doors along Girard Avenue and Locust Street.
Responding officers found a CR-V that matched the description parked on Cazneau Avenue at Locust.
Albert Blanco, 38, of San Jose, and Lisa Loretz, 30, of Boulder Creek, were standing near the vehicle when police arrived.
A records check revealed that Blanco was on parole for prior vehicle theft and drug-related charges.
Officers searched the vehicle and found suspected narcotics and paraphernalia, stolen mail, stolen property from a reported Half Moon Bay auto-burglary and a device to break windows.
Blanco and Loretz were booked into Marin County Jail.
