The Marin County coroner’s office has released the name of the 22-year-old man who died in a suspected opioid-related homicide this month.
Zachary Ethan Colety was found in a car parked on Sunnyside Avenue in Corte Madera on Jan. 4. Colety was a resident of the town.
The sheriff’s office arrested two suspects on allegations of voluntary manslaughter and furnishing a controlled substance that resulted in a great bodily injury. Corte Madera residents Raul Beltran, 25, and Olivia Peters, 22, were released on bail while the district attorney’s office decides whether to file criminal charges.
The death remains under investigation, and the toxicology results could take several weeks. Beltran and Peters could not be reached for comment.
