A Novato man accused of stabbing his roommate early last month has been booked into the county jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
Aaron Morse, 35, was taken to the jail Saturday afternoon after his release from the MarinHealth Medical Center in Greenbrae. He had been hospitalized with severe self-inflicted knife wounds.
The alleged attack was reported at about 7:30 a.m. March 6. The injured roommate escaped from the apartment and sought help at the nearby 7-Eleven on Diablo Avenue.
The victim, 20, had been stabbed repeatedly, police said. Investigators found Morse a short time later in an apartment.
The roommate told police he was stabbed while he was sleeping. Investigators think Morse might have been in a “drug-induced psychosis” when he committed the crime, Novato police Sgt. Trevor Hall said Sunday.
Morse remained in custody Sunday in lieu of $500,000 bail.
