Central Marin police have arrested two suspects found in possession of a bag full of stolen mail.
Police responded at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a man who allegedly broke into mailboxes in a community mail unit on Old Quarry Road in Larkspur.
The suspect got into a Dodge station wagon with a woman driver, according to witness testimony, said Margo Rohrbacher, spokeswoman for the police agency.
Police stopped the car nearby on Lincoln Village Circle. Only the driver, identified as Nicole Marie Gandy, 37, of El Sobrante, was inside the car, Rohrbacher said.
The man, Daniel Timothy McInery, 48, of Benicia, was found hiding in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. Police recovered a bag of allegedly stolen mail.
McInery and Gandy were booked into Marin County Jail on allegations of conspiracy, prowling and violating a public health order.
McInery was also booked on suspicion of burglary and intent to defraud. He remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $50,000 bail. Gandy was released from custody.
