A Marin City man was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening a Golden Gate Transit bus driver, authorities said.

The driver called 911 around 11:50 a.m. to report the incident on Donahue Street near the Gateway Shopping Center, Marin County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brenton Schneider said.

The passenger allegedly got into an argument with the driver because the driver did not give him a free ride, Schneider said.

The passenger, Ellis Preston, Jr., 27, of Marin City, allegedly threatened to kill the driver, Schneider said.

Preston was booked into Marin County Jail on threat allegations and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $50,000.
