A Novato man was arrested after allegedly attacking a woman with a portable speaker near Lee Gerner Park.
Police officers first went to the park on Seventh Street shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of an assault, said police Lt. Sophia Winter.
The victim told police that the suspect, 36-year-old Michael Shane Tierney, hit her in the face with the speaker, “causing a visible injury to her face,” Winter said.
Tierney was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Initially held on a $50,000 bail, he was no longer in custody Tuesday. He was not reachable for comment.
